About Howard Stein

Howard Stein, a medical, psychoanalytic, organizational, and applied anthropologist, and psychohistorian, is Professor and Special Assistant to the Chair, in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine, at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, in Oklahoma City, where he has taught since 1978. Raised in a steel factory town near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he has fallen in love with rural Oklahoma and its wheat farming and ranching culture, and has come to specialize in rural medicine.
